Zarauzko Triatloia 2025 Preview: The Strongest Lineup in Its History

The next Saturday June 14, Zarautz will once again dress up for the occasion with the celebration of TradeINN Zarauzko Triatloia 2025, an edition that will mark a before and after for the quality of its lineup.

With 750 triathletes on the starting line, a high-level race is expected, both in the men's and women's categories.

Judith Corachán and Ainhoa Murua, protagonists of the farewell and the legacy

Among women, all the spotlights point to Judith Corachán, who has chosen this stage to bid farewell to the middle distance. He will also be there Ainhoa Murua, local legend and four-time Olympian, in a very special performance in front of her home crowd.

But the level doesn't end there: the international list is brilliant. Names like alani siffert (winner at Alpe D'Huez), Émile Morier (champion in Zuia), Elizabetta Curridori (winner in Challenge Salou and Infinitri Peñíscola) or Marta Lagowcnik (winner at Challenge Mogán) ensure a level test.

The Frenchwoman completes the list of favorites Steffi Le Benezic, the Chilean Barbara Riveros and the gala Justine Guerard.

Men's category: national and international duel

The men's battle has no clear favorite. Guillem Montiel, recent European Middle Distance Champion in Pamplona, arrives with his morale sky-high.

They will also be Fernando Zorrilla (double champion of Spain), the local Pello Osoro, and other important names such as Carlos Oliver, Mikel Ugarte, Chente Hernández or the young Xandre Álvarez.

From outside our borders, triathletes with clear options will arrive: the British James Teaglethe Belgian Johnatan Wayaffe, or the French Thomas Navarro y Matteo Bringer.

A journey with history and toughness

The race begins with the iconic Getaria-Zarautz crossing (a 2,9km swim), continues with the technical and demanding cycling section with climbs such as Meagas and the dreaded Muro de San Blas, and ends with a 20km run along the seafront and through the streets of Zarautz. A combination that blends epic, tradition, and toughness.

More than a competition: a party

More than 400 volunteers will be involved in making the event possible, which will be broadcast live via streaming from the official YouTube channel, with commentary in Basque and Spanish and the participation of triathlon experts and legends.

These are the competition schedules:

  • 14:00 – Women's exit.
  • 14:10 – Men's exit.
