triXilxes 2025 celebrates its 10th anniversary with record participation and an elite PROEDITION
This Sunday, May 11, Xilxes will experience a very special edition of the triXilxes #sindrafting, which commemorates its 10 years with record participation and the long-awaited PROEDITION, a category for professionals that raises the competitive level of the event.
Athletes from 19 countries and a strong national presence
Organized by the Trilavall Club and the Xilxes City Council, triXilxes has grown from a local event in 2015 to a national and international benchmark.
In this edition, triathletes from 19 countries different, with a 92,5% of participants came from outside Castellón and more of 50% from outside the Valencian Community, which demonstrates its tourist and sporting projection.
PROEDITION: High-level, technological control, and €10.000 at stake
The big news is PROEDITION, an exclusive competition with separate start, drafting control by Race Ranger and prizes worth € 10.000. This edition is also scoring for the World Ranking of the PTO.
La PROEDITION will start on Sunday with two separate starts to guarantee spectacle and maximum competitiveness.
- Male outlet: 10: 20 h
- Women's exit: 10: 30 h
In the male category, the level will be very high. Names like Guillem Montiel, recent middle distance winner; Diego Mentrida, one of the most promising young figures on the national scene; the Olympic veteran Ramón Ejeda, the Ukrainian Yegor Martinenko, and the Azerbaijani Rostyslav Pevtsov, both with international experience at the highest level.
Athletes such as Hector Tolsá, ander noain, Matthew de Vroet and the Portuguese Ramir Marques, creating a very open battle for the podium.
In the female category, highlights the presence of Laura Gomez, one of the most consistent triathletes on the national circuit, along with the French Chloe Nicholas, the Polish Alicja Ulatowska y Yaiza Saiz, who arrives in very good shape. They are joined by Marta Cabello, a young woman in progress, and the Basque Maialen Azpiazu, completing a top-level lineup.
With cash prizes and points at stake for the PTO World Ranking, an intense, tactical and spectacular race is expected from the first meter.
Medium distance without drafting
The triathlon is contested without drafting, under the following distances:
- 1.500m swim
- 60 km of cycling
- 15 km of foot race
Equality, volunteering and positive impact
The 2024 edition had 13,7% female registrations. This year, efforts continue to improve that number.
More than 250 volunteers will guarantee the safety and family atmosphere of the event. In addition, an attendance of more than 3.000 people over the weekend, with a direct impact on hospitality and local commerce.
