The truth is that the same weekend that the IM of Hawaii was celebrated, some triathletes looked for in Gijón the triumph in a test that days before the meteorologists announced that it would be passed by water.
But the truth is that they did not hit even by a minute, the test was played on a good morning where even the sun appeared to brighten the test.
The beach of Poniente was the place chosen for the dispute of this test and the good work of the Academia Civil-CNSO club put the effort so that everything was fulfilled as planned.
The test had two separate exits by 8 minutes leaving the women first and 8 minutes later the men.
Women
The galician Marta Barbeito- AD Fogar (3º 1: 14: 53) was the first to leave the water and heading the test from that moment until her two pursuers Beatriz Tenreiro- Cidade de Lugo Fluvial (1º 1: 10: 23) and Nuria Susvilla- Civil Academy- Cnso (2º 1: 12: 46) contacted her. The three were organized to get together to the transition and from there it was where Beatriz took her superiority to cross the finish line in first position. I magnify the state of form of the triathlete that represents the City of Lugo Fluvial and the young promise in age still cadet that occupied the podium Nuria Susvilla.

The men
From the first moment it was already beginning to be rumored that the victory was between Barroso and Bayón, they were undoubtedly according to the comments in the sand on the beach before the start.
What some did not tell was with Sergio Garcia- Arcade Inforhouse (2º 0: 58: 40) that was placed next to Fernando Barroso- Santander Triathlon and when they left the water they worked so that Daniel Bayón- Civil-Cnso Academy (3º 0 : 59: 02) I could not hunt them down and see what I try.
From the water came Fernando and Sergio ahead and they fought to get off to run together and control the good runner that is Bayón. They were able to cross the finish line in those first two places.
