Daniela Ryf devastates and achieves her fourth World Ironman 70.3

{wbamp-meta name"image" url"images/stories/noticias_08/daniela-ryf-world-champion-ironman703-2018.JPG" width"1080" height"505"} The Swiss has achieved victory in the Ironman World Championship 70.3 from South Africa, surpassing the British Lucy Charles and the German Anne Haug This morning the thirteenth edition of the Ironman 70.3 World Championship was held where the Swiss Daniela Ryf has reaffirmed for the umpteenth time that she is the great dominator of the middle distance in the last lustrum. The test began punctually at 7:30 a.m., on a cool day and with a sea temperature of 16ºC, so the use of neoprene was mandatory. The British Lucy Charles, as expected, came out of the water in first position, with a time of exactly 23 minutes. 1' behind her was her compatriot Fenella Langridge and 20 seconds later a group led by the American Sara True, which also included the Brazilian Pamella Oliveira, the Czech Radka Vodickova, the Swiss Imogen Simmonds and Daniela Ryf, the South African Jaenni Seymour and the German Anne Haug. 1.9 km swim ✅ @LucyAnneCharles clocked in an incredible time and is currently leading the race. At kilometer 15 Lucy had an advantage of 34'' over Daniela and more than 2' over the rest of the favourites. About kilometer 30 Ryf hunts Charles, joining the two in the lead. At this point in the race, the advantage over the rest was already more than three minutes. As soon as she hunts down Lucy, Daniela takes the lead, with the British woman following her and keeping up with the Swiss. At kilometer 40, Ryf remained firm with Charles attached to her always respecting the regulatory distance so as not to draft. Third was the German Haug, more than 4' away, giving time to a group with Simmnds, Vodickova, True, Oliveira and Seymour. One minute behind them, Emma Pallant, the current world distance runner-up, was coming up. The leading duo continued to increase the difference, at kilometer 60 it was almost 6 minutes. Ryf and Charles finished the 90 kilometers of cycling with a solid advantage of almost 8' over their pursuers. Ryf marked the best cycling partial, with a time of 2:15:27 at almost 41 km/h on average. Daniela Ryf comes out strong from the first stride with the intention of getting away from the young Lucy Charles, but the British, very brave herself, managed to stand up to the Swiss in the first kilometers. Ryf was leading the half marathon from the start with Charles just seconds behind her. At km 3, Charles was only 10'' behind the Swiss. Behind, Anne Haug was setting the best times on foot, and was already third at kilometer three with a 30'' advantage over her pursuers Vodickova and Oliveira. At km 5 Ryf already had more of an advantage over Charles, and at km 8 the Swiss was more than a minute ahead of the British, who was defending second place very well. At this point the German Haug was still flying on foot and was less than 6' behind the British. At kilometer 10 Ryf had the title in his pocket, with more than 1'30'' over Charles and more than 6' over Haug. At kilometer 17 everything continued in the same dynamic. Ryf solid leader, Charles at 2'45'' maintaining second place and Haug third, 4' behind her. Fourth was the Swiss Simmnds and Quina Vodickova, both together 4' behind Haug.
