Javier Gómez Noya "Auckland is one of my favorite places and I will go out and give it my all"

On March 29 Sunday the second round of the World Series takes place in the New Zealand capital

This test will be the first of them on the Olympic distance since Abu Dhabi three weeks ago was about half, the Sprint. A place of unbeatable memories for Gómez Noya given that he has won the three times it has been held: 2012, 13 and 14: “Auckland is one of my favorite places and I will go out to give it my all. But even if the route goes well, each race is different and the competition is going to be very tough. I am motivated as I have finally been able to fully train after losing several days during the week after Abu Dhabi. "

Installed in Noosa (on the Australian Gold Coast, about a thousand kilometers north of Sydney) with his trainer Carlos David Prieto and the group of triathletes that accompanies him this season, Gómez Noya spent a few days with a fever and catarrh, but he is fully recovered and has resumed the planned training plan. It remains that the incognita of how the body will respond when putting it to the top in competition. So the goal will be to do the best possible and score points for the general championship, whose next appointment will be precisely on that Australian Gold Coast the April 11, near his place of concentration.

From there he flew to Auckland on Thursday, where the tour will consist of two rectangular swimming laps between the docks of the harbor; eight laps of five kilometers of cycling, with an urban route full of curves and steep slopes; and four on foot of two and a half kilometers, with an L-shaped route that allows you to visually check the differences. The men's competition starts at 4:40 p.m. local time, 5:40 a.m. Sunday morning in Central Europe. Until Saturday the time difference is 12h, but it becomes 11 that night when the time change occurs in Europe from 2 to 3. Something that in New Zealand will be done a week later, delaying being the southern hemisphere and starting there winter.
