In an interview in the Galician mail, the five-time ITU World Champion, Javier Gómez Noya, has confirmed that he will participate in the half marathon of Madrid.
Noya has chosen several years this test to compete and this year it will be your first test of the calendar
"Abu Dhabi was going to be my first triathlon of the year, but it was not going to take me as a great goal, both for the date and for being of the sprint distance instead of the Olympic"
"I've trained well these months in New Zealand, but always keeping in mind that the peak shape has to be for Tokyo", Add.
"Before that (Bermuda) I will do as in the previous years the Madrid Half Marathon on March 29“, announces the triathlete.
Noya, has improved every year in this race. In 2018 he made a time of 1:07:58 and in 2019 1:06:48.
The Galician hopes to improve his times for this edition.
"In principle, in the absence of knowing if Abu Dhabi is disputed on another date, I keep the planned plan to make the next World Series appointment, on the island of Bermuda on April 18, which also suits me better to be over Olympic distance“says Gómez Noya.
After the WTS of Bermuda, Noya has in principle marked the following two World Series events -Yokohama the May 16 and Leeds June 6 - both over Olympic distance
To face these tests, Noya will do it in Pontevedra, and later, facing the Olympic Games, concentrate in July in a place similar to the conditions that will be found in Tokyo.
