The ex-triathlete Javier Romo yesterday got second place in the fourth stage of the Coppi e Bartali Week which ended in San Marino.
On the stage the victory went to Jonas vingegaard in a tight sprint coming in ahead of Javier Romo and Australian Nick Schultz (BikeExchange).
In sixth place another Spaniard entered, Juan Ayuso (Colpack Ballan).
After the fourth stage, Javier is fourth in the general classification, 14 seconds behind the leader Jonas vingegaard
He decided to switch to cycling just a few months ago after leaving triathlon in the pandemic and making his debut in cycling winning the Spanish Championship.
Today, Saturday, the fifth and final stage is held, starting and finishing in Forli, with a route of 166,2 kilometers.
The stage will feature 7 climbs to the Rocca delle Caminate (3,5 km at 6,5%).
