Tri-Penta Terras de Lugo and Cidade de Lugo Fluvial, Spanish Duathlon Champions by Relays in Avilés

More than 3.000 athletes participated this weekend in the tests held in Aviles

The female relay of Tri-Penta Terras de Lugo, formed by the sisters Joselyn and Edymar Brea Abreu, and Alicia Ulatowska, and the Cidade de Lugo Fluvial, with Alejandro Álvarez, Celestino Fernández and Romaric Forqués, achieved the titles of Champions of Spain in the National Duathlon by Relays that closed the program of competitions of the Spanish Federation of Triathlon in Avilés in 2019 after the dispute on Saturday 30 of March of the Championship of Spain of Duathlon against Clock for Teams.

The Iberdrola Trophy for the best first part-time of the first reliever of each female elite team went to Irene Loizate and the Saltoki Diquesí Trikideak.

Saltoki led the women's race by delivering the first post Loizate, with Tri-Penta Terras de Lugo in second position and Triathlon Claveria Móstoles in the third. At the end of the second, Alicia Ulatowska placed the final winners in the first place, which would defend Joselyn Brea. The relief of Diablillos de Rivas Mar de Pulpí was tracing positions in each relay to reach the third position.

In the men's category Marlins Triathlon Madrid, Prat Triathlon 1994 and Triathlon Las Rozas occupied the first positions at the end of the first relay, with the winners and third place in the top ten stalking. At the start of the third relay the first three positions of the championship were defined but pending order, with Diablillos Rivas Mar de Pulpí leading to finish overtaken by the Cidade de Lugo and the Marlins.

In the scholastic category, the national title of Duathlon by female Relays was for the Cidade de Lugo Fluvial, followed on the podium by Tragaleguas.org and Náutico de Narón. In the men's event the championship was won by Hurricane The Bike Run athletes, ahead of Tritrain4you O2 Cabberty and Las Rozas Triathlon.

In the Open women's championship, the relay of Marlins Triathlon Madrid prevailed that of Trileon and Diablillos Rivas Mar de Pulpí, while in the men's category two relays of Diablillos Rivas achieved the first and second place, with the Aragonese Stadium Casablanca in the third.

The Mayor of Avilés, Mariví Monteserín, and the President of the Spanish Triathlon Federation, José Hidalgo, participated in the awards ceremony, accompanied by representatives of the Port of Avilés and sponsoring companies of the event.
