PumpTire is a bicycle wheel prototype that has the grace to inflate itself. The system is simple: a tube runs along the outside of the wheel. When occupying the bicycle, the tube is tightened so it is sending air into the wheel chamber. A valve is installed next to the tube that regulates the desired pressure level and determines when to inflate it.
The creator of PumpTire is looking for financing in Kickstarter to bring his product to reality. He is asking for the not insignificant sum of US $ 250 thousand, of which he has so far US $ 8671. The closing of the investment is the October 5.
PumpTire will be available in two models: City Cruiser, for casual cyclists who only want to ride a bike for a while and tour the city, and City Pro, for dedicated cyclists who want to make good use of their bike.
