One of the nine cyclists hit this Thursday by an SUV on the Ma-15, in the Majorcan municipality of Capdepera, has died tonight, as reported by the General Director of Traffic of the Ministry of the Interior, Gregorio Serrano, in his personal account of Twitter

The deceased cyclist, a German national, was part of a squad that was run over by an SUV driven by a woman of Spanish nationality, who was arrested for gross negligence, according to the Civil Guard. After the drug use test, the driver tested positive for cannabis.
The accident took place at 09.28 hours on Thursday on the road between Artà and Capdepera (Ma-15), next to the polygon of Capdepera, when the SUV ran over a cyclist squad formed by nine members, all of them of foreign nationality.
One of the cyclists was critically injured and was transferred to the Manacor Hospital, the same center where another seriously injured person was admitted, while another cyclist was taken to the General Hospital of Muro who also suffered serious injuries.
As for the six less serious injuries, two of them were transferred to the Hospital de Muro and four to Llevant.
In addition to the Civil Guard, three UVI mobile ambulances, three ambulance ambulances and a 061 logistic support vehicle and two private ambulances participated in the incident.
