Nairo Quintana has surgery on both knees

The cyclist has not recovered from his injury and has had to undergo surgery

The Colombian cyclist Nairo Quintana underwent surgery yesterday Wednesday in Lyon (France) where he He operated on both of his knees.

He has, after having suffered various physical problems this season and have tried to recover with physical therapy.

He himself had explained it a few hours earlier through Instagram commenting that he had undergone physiotherapy in order to recover his kneecaps, but that he had to undergo surgery.

"The cartilage of the knees is in a broken part“, he said, in addition to affirming that the recovery would be faster with an operation.

After the operation Nairo shared another video, in which he appears walking with crutches, and explained that the procedure had been successful.

"Friends I tell you that I underwent surgery on my knees, everything has gone very well. Now to recover and prepare for 2021. Thank you all for the messages of support"

The Colombian stressed that he began to have problems with his left kneecap after an accident in his native country where he was hit by a vehicle while training.
