Fartlek in the pool

Do you still think that a fartlek is something exclusive to athletics? Try doing a fartlek in the pool ... fun assured!

 

 

Our collaborator Ricard Perez, tells us in this article how to use the Fartlek correctly

The Fartlek is a training system which consists of doing several exercises, both aerobic and anaerobic, mainly running exercises, characterized by changes in rhythm. It is a method of resistance training where there are no breaks and rhythm changes occur. The term "fartlek" comes from Swedish and means "game with speed". (source: Wikipedia)

Not just running we can do the fartlek job. Here is an example of the swimming session What you can do to improve in a preparation for a medium distance triathlon:

FARTLEK

400v + 8 × 25 sprint d.25 "
4 x (75 prog each 25 d.30 "/ 25 sprint d.45")
AL: 8 × 25 feet d.15 "
AL: 200 feet better time
4 x (75 prog each 25 d.45 "/ 25 sprint c.45")
200 arms
