How to move from the pool to the open water?

The transition of comfort from the pool to the open water, most of the time it becomes something traumatic.

To avoid this we give you some small tips that will make this change comfortable and easy.

1 Close your eyes. Try to swim between 8 and 10 strokes in the pool with your eyes closed, then look at the bottom of the pool opening your eyes. This will help you to swim in a straight line without using the guide at the bottom of the pool.

2 Fast delivery. Practice some series of quick exits followed by a more relaxed pace. This will simulate the quick starts that we will find in the triathlon test and swim crossings in open water.

3 Dolphin swim. Practice dives with dolphin kick pushing forward in a series of short dives to propel you through the surface water. This will help you get in and out of the water more quickly.

4 Front view. Practice the front view in the pool by raising your head and looking forward to the rhythm of your breathing. Start by raising your head each 8 arm strokes by looking at a target at the end of the street and gradually work it until you get to make more strokes between look and look. With this you will also train the muscles that are needed to lift the head.

5 Be efficient. Your goal will be to reduce the number of strokes per swim length more efficiently. It is very important that you focus on the technique.

6 Neoprene test. If you have a new suit try it before in the pool, you'll look like a weirdo, but it's worth it, since the pool offers a safe and comfortable environment to adjust the neoprene to your body. The test should not last more than a few minutes.
