Eneko Llanos attends the press conference prior to Challenge Vitoria, at 5 trial days

El triathlon long distance CHALLENGE VITORIA This Sunday has been presented on the morning of Tuesday the latest details of organization and economic impact for the City.

This is the first edition of the Challenge Vitoria where 650 athletes from 21 countries will participate. The test will consist of a 3,8-kilometer swimming sector in the Landa reservoir, followed by a 180-km cyclist segment and will end with 42,195 kilometers of a marathon on the line of  goal located in the central Plaza de España.

Iciar Lamarain, Deputy of Euskera, Culture and Sport, in representation of the Excma. Diputación de Álava has highlighted the importance of this event for the province as it highlights the different spaces and provincial parks that are covered.

Eneko Llanos, Local professional triathlete has stressed the excellent conditions that Vitoria-Gasteiz has to host a test of this caliber and relevance for the city. He has also made an appeal to the public to turn this year as he did last year from the first triathlete to the ovation that the last triathlete received in entering the finish line.

To conclude - Idoia Garmendia, Deputy Mayor and Tourism Councilor of the Vitoria-Gasteiz City Council, He has recalled the pride of the celebration of the triathlon world championship last year and the positioning as a sports city that reports this type of events to the city.

Today more than 90% of the hotel rooms are covered and the event will report an 1.900.000 € of economic return with the 11.000 overnight stays expected in the next 4 days.
