The Championship 2024, the first PROS announced

The elite of world triathlon will meet again in one of the most important events on the calendar, in The Championship.

This test that takes place in Šamorín, Slovakia, on May 19 is the queen test of the Challenge Family franchise.

Now the start list has been published with many top triathletes, promising an exciting and unpredictable race.

In the male category, Pieter Heemeryck (BEL) returns to The Championship for the sixth time, looking to finally climb to the highest podium.

 The Belgian is coming off a podium in the Singapore T100 and is in top form. However, he will have to deal with many high-level triathletes such as  Daniel Bækkegård (DEN), Frederic Funk (GER) and the current 70.3 world champion, Rico Bogen (GER).

Antonio Benito returns to the competition, after not having competed at IRONMAN 70.3 Valencia. in this test where he will surely try to be in the top positions.

The 2023 women's champion, India Lee (GBR), will be present to defend his title and continue his successful start to the season after his victory in the Miami T100.

She is joined by another former champion and compatriot, lucy buckingham, who also won the title in 2021, as well as Fenella Langridge, forming a British trio that will be difficult to beat.

Among those who seek to dethrone them are the Germans Caroline Pohle y Anne Reichmann. Pohle was second to Lee at The Championship 2023 and has started her 2024 season with a third place in Valencia, while Reischmann was second in the Philippines on the same weekend.

The Spanish Marta Sánchez, for her part, comes from two consecutive victories in Ironman South Africa and Pucon 70.3 and is among the favorites due to her great form.
