With only five years of existence, the López de Castro lawyers Duathlon of Seville It is a consolidated test in the calendar and has already become a reference in our country. In fact, by number of participants and by the level of those who will fight for the triumph next Saturday in Isla de la Cartuja, there are not many competitions that are at the level of what will be lived: more than 700 duathletes will be placed on the number, among them a whole runner-up of the World Cup as is the Huelva Emilio Martín; and the fourth in the world, the Sevillian Sergio Lorenzo

The latter has been, along with María del Mar Sánchez Estrella (Delegate Councilor for Sports of the City of Seville), José María Merchán (president of the Andalusian Triathlon Federation and Olympic triathlete), Luis López de Castro (director-manager of López de Castro lawyers), Pedro Lumbreras (triathlete) and Rubén Álvarez (triathlete) in the presentation of this V López de Castro lawyers Duathlon of Seville that took place this morning in the Laredo building.

María del Mar Sánchez Estrella: "Of the 700 enrolled over the 50% come from outside of Seville, which indicates that it is a test accepted in the city and outside as well. This sport specialty has had a great growth, and it is demonstrated in the increase of the federative licenses. From the IMD we always want to be close to important events for the city, such as this duathlon. With the athletes and their companions, who will also enjoy the city, which affects the increase of tourist activity in Seville. It is a joy to see how female participation has increased, in the run-up to Women's Day, the March 8".

José María Merchán: "For me the competitions that take place in Andalusia are the result of the good work we do. It is a pride that this duathlon is the one with the highest participation in Spain. That means that work here is doing very well. We have achieved that Seville is a national reference of this sport, and now we want to be internationally. We have the ingredients for this to be the case: participation, public, city, temperature ... In addition, we have tried to treat everyone equally, and the results are seen in high female participation, for example. From 20 girls ago 4 years ago we have passed over the 100 in this edition".

Luis López de Castro: "My law firm wants to be present in this test because we believe in the values of sacrifice that this sport demands. They are already several years joining our name to the event, and in this edition will be special. Because I would like participants and family members to join in the fight against cancer. Like the athletes, cancer patients have this capacity to overcome their disease. For that reason, I want this year especially to be the Duathlon against cancer, not the Duatlón López de Castro."

Sergio Lorenzo: "VI want to give my best for the test and for the cause of the fight against cancer. Since I started 15 years ago, I have lived the evolution of this sport and it is no longer necessary to explain what it consists of, but it has a great media impact and a high participation".

Pedro Lumbreras: "If there are so many participants, it is because things are going well at the organizational and institutional level. Seville is the best city in the world to practice sports and celebrate sporting events. The duathlon is not the discipline in which I do best, but I am competitive and I am going to give everything. I wish Sergio and Rubén, as teammates, to do their best".

Rubén Álvarez: "I'm a duath in practice, my closest reference is Sergio Lorenzo. This year my goal is to gain experience and, for this, I have great references nearby. On Saturday I will try to give everything, remove the thorn from last year, which was the first and I did not have good experience in transitions. I have more confidence to face this great test".
