Before certain information appeared in various media referring to what I experienced during the swimming in Cozumel, where I lost the hat and glasses shortly after the start, I would like to clarify that it is something I already talked with Alistair after the race and for me It remains as a mishap of competition that can occur in a segment in which physical contact is common.

In the same way, having seen the appeals made by the Spanish Triathlon Federation, I would like to clarify that I am not involved in this process or aware of the peculiarities, and that it has nothing to do with the previously described.

The race in Cozumel showed us the suffering and excitement of the sport, and witnessed an incredible moment among the Brownlee brothers that has traveled around the world.

 Two great competitors who need to give their best, so I am very happy to have crossed the finish line in Cozumel as World Champion, after a complicated race and in extreme conditions that puts an end to a long championship .

I think that after what happened in the last hours, I feel obliged to write a few words.

Everything that happened this weekend, will undoubtedly go down in the history of our sport, will be the most seen in triathlon and there is no doubt about that.

Each of us can have our opinion about what happened and of course it is very different what we could think about the competition or what you can think about a few hours later.

I do not want to get into more controversy, I'm very happy with my third place that I think I've won. All the controversy that comes after the Brownlee case each one has a very respectable opinion and it is impossible for all of us to think the same.

I do not want to have a wrong image of me so they can manipulate the media, from here I want to know my great relationship with the Brownlee brothers, for me they are the best triathletes in history and are able to carry their body to an extrahuman limit that very few can do.

And of course I show my admiration for Mario Mola, World Champion and an example inside and outside the competition for all.

Regarding the issue of disqualification or not, there are some judges who are the ones who determine this, it is their work and their verdict is the one that we have to accept.
