The IV Iberia Iberia Eurociudad Triathlon will have as starting line and goal ayamonte

The hall of plenary session of the City council of Ayamonte has welcomed the presentation of the project for the celebration of the IV Triathlon LD Ibermán Eurociudad, which will take place on the next fifteenth of October, having as starting points and Ayamonte goal.

The act of presenting this important event was chaired by the mayor of the city, Alberto Fernández, and has also had the participation of the Sports Councilor, José Manuel Correa, and the sporting director of this event, Eduardo Jiménez Orta .

In his appearance, the first local mayor thanked the organization for his bet on Ayamonte, while stressing that this important sporting event "will contribute to prolong the summer season, given the climate benefits of the area, which allow to continue enjoying the sun and the beaches in the month of October ". The mayor also said that it is one of the most important sporting events of all that will be held throughout 2016 in the municipality. Fernandez added that "activities like this help to place Ayamonte on the map as a destination of great tourist attraction."

For his part, the sporting director of the event announced that "this year all the ingredients are combined to make this the best of all the triathlon editions", while thanking the City Council for its involvement and collaboration "which have made Ayamonte deservedly becomes the protagonist of the 2016 edition of this unique long-distance race in the world ”.

Eduardo Jiménez offered the technical data of this activity, of great importance, organized by the CD Iberman in collaboration with the company Anterreventos. This competition is the only world test that runs between two countries, Spain and Portugal, and in its fourth edition has as a novelty that both the starting line and the finish point will be installed in Ayamonte.

The ultra triathlon, in the individual and relay modalities, will begin at 08'30 hours on Isla Canela, where the 3,8 km will be held. of swimming, after which the first transition will be carried out (T1), continuing with 180 km. of cycling that, departing from Ayamonte, will run through the Spanish towns of Villablanca, San Silvestre de Guzman, Sanlúcar de Guadiana and El Granado, crossing the Spanish-Portuguese border through the Chanza River bridge, to reach the Portuguese village of Pomarâo , continuing to the town of Mértola, where the Guadiana River will be crossed by its bridge, continuing to the town of Alcoutím on the border river.

Subsequently, the triathletes will arrive in the town of Vila Real de Santo Antonio, where the second transition (T2) will take place, undertaking the 42 km route. of running with which the test will conclude. Crossing the International Bridge over the Guadiana river, the runners will arrive, once again, in Ayamonte, where they will travel an attractive circuit through the urban area of ​​the city, which will culminate at the finish line, which will be installed in the central Plaza de España de la host locality of this Iberman LD.

It should be noted that so far, almost nine months after the celebration of this IV Triathlon Iberman Eurociudad more than one hundred runners from countries such as England, Germany, Italy, Portugal and Spain have made effective registration to participate in this sporting event of large span
