Movements in the Olympic ranking after the Hong Kong World Cup

Alberto González rises 8 places

Alberto González García It has been the great Spanish revelation in the Hong Kong World Cup.

His victory in the men's race has made him climb eight positions in the olympic ranking until reaching 28th place.

This result places him as the third best-ranked Spanish triathlete and considerably increases his chances of being selected for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

Antonio Serrat seoane, already qualified for the Spanish Olympic team, has also achieved a good result in Hong Kong.

His silver medal has allowed him to rise one place in the ranking to 13th. Serrat consolidates himself as one of the strongest Spanish triathletes today.

Roberto Sánchez Mantecón remains in 20th place in the ranking, while David Castro Fajardo has seen a notable rise of four places to 31st thanks to its 11th place in Hong Kong.

Castro is now in a more favorable position to compete for a spot on the Olympic team.

The results obtained by González García, Serrat Seoane, Castro Fajardo and Mantecón bring them one step closer to their dream of participating in the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

Other highlights:

  • Elizabeth Bravo (Ecuador) has been the triathlete who has experienced the most notable rise in the women's ranking, rising eight positions to 48th.
  • Zuzana Michalickova (Slovakia) is very close to obtaining Olympic qualification after its 8th place in Hong Kong.
  • Ilaria Zane (Italy) has once again demonstrated his great form with a 5th place in Hong Kong.
