4 and 5 of June of 2016, date chosen for the Duathlon World Championship in Avilés

The International Triathlon Union (ITU) has confirmed the dates for the Duathlon World Championship that will arrive in Avilés in 2016.

A bet of extraordinary caliber that will run through stunning scenarios, concentrated in the area of ​​the Avilesian estuary and the Niemeyer Cultural Center. So, next season, Spain will have a new international appointment of first level, in which it is expected a participation close to the 1400 duathletes from 40 countries.

An event in which the City Council of Avilés, the Directorate General of Sports of the Principality of Asturias, the Spanish Triathlon Federation, the Triathlon Federation of the Principality of Asturias, the Niemeyer Cultural Center and the Port of Avilés are immersed.

In the last decade, Avilés has become host to several top-level sports competitions, including the successful organization of the past Duathlon Spain Championships at 2014 and more recently, the Spanish Duathlon Team Time Trial Championships and Duathlon by Relays
