Carolina Routier, Gurutze Frades and Saleta Castro protagonists of the weekend

Tomorrow, Saturday, Carolina Routier competes as the only Spanish representative in the World Cup in Mooloolaba (Australia), while on Sunday Guruzte Frades and Saleta Castro dispute their first triathlon of 2017 at the Oceanlava in Tenerife.

The classic competition of Mooloolaba kicks off the extensive 2017 world cup calendar, where this year there will be two Spanish events, Madrid and Huelva. The Australian city brings good memories to the TRIarmada since there they have managed to win the victory Javier Gómez Noya, Mario Mola and Tamara Gomez. As we have mentioned before Carolina Routier will be the only national representative, in a competition where she, along with the locals Ashleig Gentle y Emma Jackson they are the main favorites to victory.

The race will start the 11: 30 local time, the 2: 30 Spanish time and will be played under Olympic distance. Only 16 triathletes have registered so Carolina has a good opportunity to score good points for the ITU ranking. The men's competition will start three hours later and the main candidates for victory are the Mexican Grajales, the Hungarian Faldum and the American Mcdowell.

On the other hand on March 12 Sunday a new edition of the Oceanlava Tenerife. The test consists of 2 competitions, a half and a standard without drafting. In the competition of the female hafl, the presence of the Kona finisher stands out Saleta Castro y Gurutze Frades, who have chosen this competition to kick off their 2017 season. They are the main candidates to win, along with the French Camille Delingny. Highlight also the presence in the Half Oceanlava of two of the most beloved triathletes in the Canary Islands, Tamar González (classified as ggee for the IM 70.3 2017 World Cup) e Inés Hernández, one of the women most times finisher in the IM of Lanzarote. In the men's competition, the main favorite is French Romain Guillaume.

The half Oceanlava competition will start the 8: 30 insular hour (the 9: 30 peninsular hour) while the standard without drafting will comment to the 14: 00 insular hour. We must congratulate the organization for the effort to carry out the two competitions at different times, to avoid coinciding at the same time with the inconveniences that this causes to the participants.
