Cristina Fárez, young promise of the Ecuadorian triathlon dies run over

The deceased held the South American Sub-20 triathlon title and was qualified for the Pan American Games next July in Toronto, Canada.

 

According to the newspaper elcomercio.com The triathlete María Cristina Fárez, of 20 years, passed away the morning of last Sunday 24 of May of 2015, to the northeastern of Cuenca.

The triathlete was run over while training with her teammates while preparing for the Triathlon World Cup, which will be the 14 of July of 2015 in Huatulco, Mexico. According to her coach, Angel Matute, the accident occurred while she was getting off on her bicycle and a vehicle hit him in a tight corner. "He threw him on the sidewalk and he died immediately."

The deceased held the South American Sub-20 triathlon title and was qualified for the Pan American Games next July in Toronto, Canada.

His body was taken to the Forensic Center for the corresponding autopsy and his visit is scheduled to take place at the Jefferson Pérez Coliseum of the Sports Federation of Azuay.
