David Castro and Cecilia Santamaría, winners of the Duathlon of Eagles

The triathlete of the Roda, David Castro, and the component of the Cidade de Lugo Fluvial, Cecilia Santamaría were the winners of the first qualifier for the National Duathlon Championship that was held this morning in Águilas

 

More than 500 triathletes have gathered this morning in Águilas to participate in the XXIV Duathlon Carnivals of Eagles that opened the Duathlon Regional League and that of Minors and, in addition, it was the first qualifying test for Spanish Duathlon Championship.

David Castro, of the EQTR - Rodacal Beyem, has been the winner of the male event in a tight end in which he has achieved victory in the last meters, marking a time of 54 minutes and 35 seconds. Only 5 seconds, it arrived Darío Chitti, of the University of Alicante (54: 40) that has not been able to hold the final arreón of the triathlete of the Roda, conforming with the second position. The third place on the podium has occupied Andrés Cendan, of the Cidade de Lugo Fluvial (54: 44).

As for the female elite, Cecilia Santamaría, of the Cidade de Lugo Fluvial, has been the fastest of a competition that, as in the boys, has been decided in the last 2.500 meters of running race, where it has managed to escape reaching the finish line with a time of 1 hour, 4 minutes and 55 seconds. After her, and doing the same time of 1 hour, 5 minutes and 10 seconds, arrived Sara Guerrero, from the Nautical AD of Narón, Inés Santiago, of the Ferrol Triathlon.
