Doublet for the CT Diablillos de Rivas in the Duathlon Spain Championship

El Diablillos de Rivas wins the men's and women's division of the first division

 

Exciting closing to the first edition of the Spanish Duathlon Championship by Clubs with the CT Devils of Rivas raising with the titles in feminine and masculine category of first division. Two tests full of spectacle with a formidable teamwork by the Madrid club.

In females, the components of the Diablillos de Rivas CT dominated the first third of the competition, with Paula García Godino being the first duatleta to arrive at the T1. A few seconds, Estefanía Domínguez would be the next to pass through the transition area. A T1 that would leave a block of six athletes formed by García Godino, Domínguez, Lucía Pérez, Sara Bonilla, Wanda Villanueva and Sonia López. All of them located a few seconds apart.

After completing the four laps of the cycling circuit, García Godino and Bonilla went into action, leading the T2. Both starred in an intense duel, offering a colossal display through the streets of the Galician town of Boiro. Subtracting 1, 5 km the Madrilenians led the race on foot, with a brilliant Estefanía Domínguez following his wake in third position.

A final at the height of two giants, with Garcia Godino and Bonilla contesting the victory in a vibrant final sprint, which left Paula García Godino as the winner with a time of 01: 00: 22. While the Triathlon Claveria Móstoles member crossed the finish line to a second, to take second place. On the other hand, Estefanía Domínguez del Cidade from Lugo Fluvial completed the individual podium in third place.

After the count of points, the representatives of CT Diablillos de Rivas proclaimed themselves winners, to obtain a comfortable score of 838 points. The components of Triathlon Clavería de Móstoles they signed the subchampionship with 631 points and the duathletes of the AD Ecosport Triathlon Alcobendas They climbed to the third step of the podium by adding 592 points.

In the male category, the boys of Diablillos de Rivas followed a tactic very similar to their club mates, remaining in the first places and working together. A very equal competition was developed in the first chords of the race, with a group escaped in the lead in a very open race that was led by Luis Miguel Sánchez Rosado and integrated among others by several duathletes of the Rivas-Vaciamadrid club.

Raul Manso would be the first to take advantage of the departure of a T1 in which the first nine contenders were separated by a few seconds. A tight competition that would break through the T2, with Javier Martín Morales marching in the lead, followed by Sánchez Rosado, Cristóbal García Guillén and Sergio Lorenzo.

Everything would be decided in these last 2,5 km of race, with Sanchez Rosado reaching the victory to add important points for the Focus Race Team. Then Cristóbal García Guillén would arrive from Montilla-Córdoba Triathlon and Sergio Lorenzo (AD Sevilla Bikila) would achieve third place in the individual classification.

Once the points have been awarded, CT Devils of Rivas it was done with a new triumph with 834 points. Another team from Madrid, the Focus Race Team would ascend to the second place with 682 points and the third place would be for the Andalusian AD Sevilla Bikila with 656 points.
