Emilio Martín Plata in the Duathlon European Championship

Frenchman Benoit Nicolas has revalidated the European title, Oier Aguirre qunito and Raúl Amatriain Séptimo.

 

This afternoon, the Duathlon European Championship in Alcobendas where Spain started with many options for victory.

Among the favorites, we find ourselves with Benoit Nicolas, the actual champion in 2014Emilio Martin bronze last year and recent Spanish duathlon champion 2015,. Emilio was already World Champion in 2012 y second in 2013. Roger RocaSergio Lorenzo o Raul AmatriainSpanish Duathlon LD Champion 2015 were the rest of the Spanish participation where insurance will try to be near the podium.

The race on foot, started with a frenetic pace, leaving in a very stretched group, where little by little, the best in that segment were taking advantage until forming a group of 4 with Benoit Nicolas , Emilio Martín, Phillip Willie and Yohan Le Berre

The 4 group started alone in the cycling sector where Emilio was one of the most participative with several attempts to escape and always printing a strong rhythm, which helped them to arrive at the start of the race on foot.

In the Pedreste sector a group of 3 Benoit Nicolas, Emilio Martín and Phillip Willie was formed, the Frenchman arriving alone at the finish line Benoit Nicolas ( getting the European Championship for the second consecutive year, in a time followed by Emilio Martín and British Phillip Willie occupying the third final position.

Oier Ariznabarreta finished the test in sixth position and Raúl Amatriain has managed to enter the TOP 10 in seventh position.Marío Ortega has finished 11º,Roger Roca the 14º, Javier Martín the 19º, Daniel Gónzalez the 21º and Peio Osoro in the 26ª position.

For its part, the malagueño Mario Garcia he also reaped the medal of plata in the Sub23 Championship. A podium in which the Portuguese Filipe Azevedo and the third place was for the Belgian Jan Petralia Javier Martín signed sixth place in the category, with Daniel González in seventh place and Peio Osoro twelfth.
