Mario Mola remains in second place in the world ranking

The Spaniard finished fourteenth in the race held in London despite scoring the second best part of the race on foot.

In the sixth round of the World Triathlon Series, the one held this afternoon in London on sprint distance, Mario Mola He finished in fourteenth position, not being able to repeat in this way the victory achieved in this same scenario a year ago.

With triumph of Alistair Brownlee with a final time of 50 minutes and 39 seconds, Mola made an excellent run on foot, marking the second best part (behind the South African Richard Murray, who was fifth in goal) but that great performance did not allow him to recover the lost time in swimming, the cut suffered in the cycling sector and the second lost in a second transition that was slower than usual.

With all this, Mario finished this afternoon 40 seconds behind Brownlee, who reached the finish line alone with 12 seconds ahead of the Spanish. Fernando Alarza, who remains third overall behind Mario.

Mario started 2015 with victory in Abu Dhabi, on sprint distance, he was fifteenth in Auckland, in Olympic distance, and second in Gold Coast, in Olympic distance as well. After his eighth position in Cape Town, he was third in Yokohama. The London test shared with Abu Dhabi being the only Sprint distance.

The next Mario Mola competition in the World Triathlon Series calendar will be the July 18-19 weekend in the German city of Hamburg. Taking advantage of this break in the international circuit that brings together the best in the world, Mario Mola plans to participate in the June 14 with his team, Sautroville, in a test of the French circuit.

In addition, the next June 21 will compete in the Garmin Barcelona Triathlon, your only test this year in national territory. Mario will start in it as a great favorite after having achieved the title in 2013 and have been second in 2014.
