Triathlon of Zaragoza: Swimming in the Ebro Victories of Victor Bordonada and Chus Til

The first edition of the Zaragoza Triathlon was held last weekend

What a win we had to see swim in the Ebro and have a triathlon in the most central part of Zaragoza. The Azador de Vadorrey presented an unbeatable appearance where the public and triathletes could enjoy this magnificent spectacle where you could see 1.000 meters swim, a 21 km crossover circuit with the BTT and an end of 6 km on foot that ran along the banks of the Ebro between the Iron Bridge and the footbridge of the Azud.

Victor Bordonada (Stadium Casablanca) and Chus Til were the winners in this first edition and accompanied on the podium by Eduardo Jiménez (Casablanca) and Julián Tejedor (Cierzo) on the men's absolute podium, while the very young Maria Sancho, of only 17 years (Stadium Venice), and María Teresa Ayala (Europe) accompanied Til on the women's podium.

A total of 170 participants in this competition organized by the Pasionporeltri triathlon portal, and sponsored by Publimax, in addition to having a significant number of collaborators.

Despite the strong heat, the test, framed in the Nautical and Fluvial Fair ARAQUA, which has included many activities in the river bed, has had a very notable public and more than met the goal of demystifying the Ebro as a scenario for tests of this sport or swimming trips.

The objective of the organization, in communion with the Aragonese Triathlon Federation, is that the next edition of the event can be transformed into a triathlon with an urban cycling circuit, in which the mountain bike is replaced by the road bike in its second segment, a path that would allow the appearance of both banks of the Ebro between the bridges of Hierro and Manuel Giménez Abad (third belt) and be the germ of National competitions such as a Spanish School Championship that highlights the excellent quarry work that is taking place in our Community.
