Pablo Martín and Rafa Solís shine in World Duathlon LD

The Swiss town of Zofingen yesterday housed the mythical Powerman, the best-known duathlon in the world, under its typical 10km distances on foot, followed by 150km of cycling without drafting to finish with 30km on foot.

 

 

The test was in turn Duatlon LD World and there two Spanish participants participated, Pablo Martín in male elite category and Rafa Solis in the PT4 category of paraduatlón.

In the elite male competition Pablo Martín got a meritorious 4ª position, staying at 2'30 '' of the medal. Pablo arrived 2º to the T1 completing the first 10km in 31: 08, later in the cycling sector he was overtaken by 2 duatletas more, and 4º arrived at the T2, position that ended up occupying finally. Despite making a large partial on foot could not overcome positions in the last 30km, since the trio that completed the podium made times even better than the Spanish.

The victory was for the Belgian Seppe Odeyn with a time of 6: 23: 43, in second position came the German Felix Köhler in 6: 28: 55 and the third place went to the Danish Soren Bystrup with 6: 33: 48.

In the female competition victory for the British Emma Pooley with 7: 06: 16, to 11 'in second place among the Swiss Nina Brenn and third to 25 'of the winner came the Danish Susanne Svendesen

Finally, quote the carrerón del paraduatleta Rafa Solis who was proclaimed world champion duatlon LD in the PT4 category, dominating the test in the three segments and beating the French David Travadon.
