Alicante Triathlon celebrates its first edition this weekend.

More than 800 triathletes will participate in the race that closes the Mediterranean Triathlon 2017 circuit.

The multi-tasking event will have the Autonomic Championship for Mixed Relays on Saturday. And the most popular tests in which more than 100 athletes will debut in the world of triathlon in its shortest form, the triathlon supersprint.

All participants will have to travel 300 meters of swimming, 10,5 kilometers of cycling and 2 kilometers of running. A very affordable distance for all those who want to try in the world of triathlon.

After the adult competition, from the 12 hours the school competition will start, where the youngest will start the XXXVI Sports Games - Vialterra. Competition that extends throughout the entire school calendar, and that this new course will kick off with the Acuatlón Escolar de Alicante. 192 girls and boys, from 6 to 16 years, prepare to compete in the five categories that comprise the Sports Games - Vialterra, cadets, children, fry, benjamines and multisport. Each of them will have to travel the distances that adapt according to age.

On Sunday, more than 400 triathletes will compete the Olympic distances (1.500 meters of swimming, 40 km by bike and 10 km running) and Sprint (750 meters of swimming, 20 km by bike and 5 km by running) thus closing a great weekend of popular triathlon.

All the tests that make up Alicante Triathlon will be played in the surroundings of Playa del Postiguet, the port area, and the goal will be located in the emblematic Plaza del Puerto.

In this way Alicante Triathlon will become a family event, in which there will be competition for all levels, thus being able to enjoy all together a great weekend of triathlon.

From Friday afternoon will begin the activity in the competition area with the delivery of numbers of the tests on Saturday morning, in the port square.

On Saturday afternoon all those who compete on Sunday will be able to pick up their bib and pass material control.
