Rafa Solis wins the Winter Triathlon World Championship in PT4

Rafael Solis has won the triumph in the Winter Triathlon World Championship played this February 13 in Zeltweg (Austria) in a brilliant exhibition of the Spanish athlete.

 

Solis arrived in Austrian lands in a great state of form, after reaching the European runner-up in the modality on 23 January. The paratriathlete from Zaragoza made a splendid staging, leading the competition to finally proclaim himself World Champion in the PT4 category, obtaining an advantage of more than one minute over his opponents. A magnificent victory for an athlete who is starting the season at a very high level.

For its part, in the female junior category Victoria Vaquero He has qualified in seventh place. The triathlete of Benavente stood out especially for his performance on the cycling segment, completing a good performance in his international debut. 

Ahead, the victory was for the local triathlete Anna Swoboda who finished with a 24-second lead over the second classified. The excitement was served in the fight for the silver medal, with the Russian Iulia Skriabna achieving second place by just three hundredths of an advantage over the Slovakian Lucia Michalickova, who would close the podium in third position.

Great level for the Spanish, with a highlight Rafa Solis climbing to the top of the podium in Zeltweg. Both disputed some routes that in their respective categories were formed by a first sector of two laps (3,6 km) of running, followed by 6 km of MTB, distributed along two laps. Finally, 4,8 km end of cross country before crossing the finish line.
