The next September 29 will be held in the Portuguese city of Cascais on IRONMAN 70.3 Cascais, one of the tests with more relevance of the international scene and chosen by the athletes themselves as one of the best to participate

Cascais is located at just 20 minutes from Lisbon International Airport. This city knows well what triathlon is since it has been hosting the Triathlon test for several years, where this year close to 3.000 participants expected in the middle distance test.

With a history of over 650 years, Cascais is among Sintra, declared World Heritage by UNESCO, and the people of Oeiras. Participating athletes can enjoy what Cascais has to offer, starting with swimming in front of the Cidadela Fortress, the most spectacular bay in Portugal.

The 90 km cycling sector runs along the coast as well as entering the impressive natural landscapes of the Sintra forests, returning again to Cascais through the spectacular Guincho beach “where the land ends and the sea begins”.

The foot race is not far behind, starting at the Racetrack, will take the participants through Cascais Village, Marginal Road and returning to Cascais Bay, the perfect inspiration to finish the race.

The Cascais area offers everything an athlete needs to train, it has a perfect combination of sea, mountains, climate with almost 300 days of sunshine a year.

Details to consider for the day of the competition?

The day of the test will be difficult to park, as they cut the center of the city and jams are formed, so it is recommended to use the transfer or the Taxi or Uber service.

Another option is to leave the car in the car parks of the Cascais Market, Duquesa Beach, the train station or the Cascais Villa Mall.

The test is broadcast live and in the finish area there will be a giant screen where you can follow the circuit.

How can you go to Cascais from Lisbon?

The city of Cascais is very well connected, since it is only 30 kilometers from Lisbon, if you travel by plane to the Portuguese capital, you can reach this city in two ways:

By car: 

Through the A5 following the signs to Cascais / Estoril. It can also be reached by the road that runs along the coast, the EN 6.

By train: 

From the Cais do Sodré station in Lisbon, on the Cascais line. Trains depart Monday through Sunday from 05: 30-01: 30 every half hour / twenty minutes approximately.
