Swimming in the Seine: A historic return for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games

The triathlon it has experienced significant growth since its inclusion in the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games.

The triathlon race format in the Olympics it consists of a 1,500m swim, a 40km bike segment and a 10km run.

The competition is a single race in which the first athlete to cross the finish line is the winner and takes Olympic glory.

At the 2024 Paris Olympic Games, the swimming segment of the triathlon event will make history.

For the first time in a century, the athletes will swim in the waters of the Seine River.

Since 1923 swimming in the Seine River has been prohibited due to pollution.

However, since the turn of the millennium, conditions have improved enough to now allow sportsmen to return to the river.

This cleanup effort is one of the greatest legacies of the 2024 Paris Olympic Games, where the triathlon and paratriathlon events will take place.
