10 editions of Desafio Doñana

The Board opens the registration to participate in the tenth edition of the Doñana Challenge

The test, which will be held on Saturday 21 in September, has been consolidated in the international long distance testing calendar

The tenth edition of the Doñana Challenge, competition organized by the Junta de Andalucía, will be held on Saturday 21 September 2019 in the town of Sanlucar de Barrameda (Cádiz), and from today all athletes interested in participating in the tenth edition of the test can now make their registration.

Desafío Doñana is one of the toughest endurance events held annually. It is a long distance triathlon made up of three different modalities: cycling, swimming and running.

The difference of the triathlon, the order of the segments

What Unlike other triathlon tests is the order and distance of disciplines; as well as its journey through places and environments of singular beauty and sensitivity, such as the mouth of the Guadalquivir and the Doñana National Park.

The opening of registrations several months in advance will allow athletes interested in participating in the competition to better plan their preparation for the event, and thus be able to combine it with others who will be competing. The date to be able to register in this edition will end the September 6. Upon completion ten editions of the eventand will develop a series of commemorative activities over the next months.

The same route is maintained

The same journey after the expansion carried out three years ago in the cycling segment, which went from 90 to 100 kilometers, crossing the town of Trebujena from Cadiz, Sanlúcar de Barrameda, Chipiona, Rota, Jerez de la Frontera and El Puerto de Santa María. On the other hand, the swimming and running segments also maintain the distances with respect to the last editions, one and 30 kilometers, respectively.

The true uniqueness of the event is the foot race segment, which runs entirely through the virgin beach of Doñana National Park, the largest ecological reserve in Europe and a World Heritage Site since 1994, and from which the name of this event derives.

The minimum age to compete is 20 years. As in the last editions, whoever registers on a certain date will have a discount on the final price. Until July's 10, the cost of inscriptions for non-federated athletes will be 75 euros and 65 euros for non-federated athletes. And from the July 11 the price will be 95 and 85 euros, respectively.
