More than 1.000 participants in the Long Course Weekend Mallorca, a multi-stage LD Triathlon

The LCW Mallorca is a test of LD triathlon that is held in three days in a rows, 3.8 km of swimming on Friday, 172 km of cycling on Saturday and the marathon on Sunday.

El Long Course Weekend Mallorca, whose inaugural edition is celebrated in Alcudial 3 to 5 for November, already has more than 1.000 participants between the three days of competition less than 10 days of its celebration. The Long Course Weekend is a sports festival that It lasts three days, where athletes have to swim on friday, ride a bicycle on Saturday y run on sunday. There are a multitude of distances and options in which to participate every day, and a special recognition in the form of a fourth medal for those athletes capable of taking part in the longest distance segment on a daily basis (3.800 m of swimming, 180 km of cycling and 42.195 m of running ).

This spectacular event, which aspires to become a reference at European level for triathletes, cyclists, runners and swimmers in general, it already has more than 1.000 participants adding up the three days of the competition. Friday November 3 is the "Swim Day"And it is possible to swim in the bay of Alcudia 750, 1.500, 1.900 or 3.800 meters. Saturday is the "Bike Day"With a cycling race of 86 or 172km, with the roads closed to traffic and with the option of going in the peloton. To end the weekend, the November 5 Sunday is the "Run Day", In which athletes can choose between running 5, 10, 21 or 42 km. Only the finishers of the three days in the greater distances will be able to choose to the fourth medal that grants them the status of "Legends" and first 'finishers' of the Long Course Weekend Mallorca.

Among the more than 1.000 athletes, there is a very high participation of women (40% of total registrations), with up to 16 countries represented. An 46% of those registered are British, while Spaniards are 37% and Germans are 12%. The average age of the 'type participant' is 42 years, and he is accompanied to Mallorca by his entire family (3-4 persons).
