The Principality of Andorra is ready to host the third edition of the Andorra Winter Triathlon this weekend where the Winter Triathlon European Championships 2023.
Naturland and Sant Julià de Lòria will be the nerve center of the hundred international athletes who will participate in this unique competition on top of the snow in which they will face three disciplines: running, mountain biking and Nordic skiing.
Triathletes of twelve different nationalities
The Andorra Winter Triathlon hosted the World Championships for two consecutive editions, in 2021 and 2022, and this year it will live the European championships.
The choice of Andorra made by the European Triathlon Union means that they meet in the Principality of Andorra teams of 12 different nationalities from all over the continent to compete in the cross-country ski resort of Sant Julià de Lòria and Naturland.
There will be representation of athletes from Austria, the Czech Republic, Estonia, France, Great Britain, Germany, Italy, Romania, Slovenia, Switzerland and Slovakia, as well as Spain.
Saturday starts the day in Naturland
The competition will start in Naturland this Saturday, January 28, starting at 9 in the morning, with tests in the individual, junior and paratriathlete categories.
On Sunday the competition will continue with the second and last day with the competitions of the age groups and the mixed relay teams.
Franco-Spanish, French and Open Championship
The Andorra Winter Triathlon will also be the Franco-Spanish Championship, being the first time that both federations join forces to work together.
A demonstration of this co-organized test is that there will be referees from both the Spanish and French federations.
A joint work that is an example for future sporting events and helps to place Andorra in the spotlight and as a reference in this regard.
In addition, this winter triathlon event will also host the French championship and will have an Open category
