2.200 triathletes will take the island of Lanzarote

A record number of 2200 athletes will be waiting behind the doors of Club La Santa during the following days to collect their competition kit and enjoy the activities offered before the competition.

Some of the top favorite athletes will meet at a press conference next Friday the 16th at 13:00 p.m. at the Hotel Fariones in Puerto del Carmen. The event will feature male athletes such as: Ronnie Schildknecht, Romain Guillaume, Bert Jammaer, Kiril Kotsegariv, Miquel Blanchart, EschaK Escha Escha Escha Escha Escha Escha EschaK Escha EschaK!  as well as female athletes: Kristen Möller, Sonja Tajsich y Lucy Gossage.

However, the IRONMAN from Lanzarote It would not be possible without the thousands of sports lovers who gather for this event. The so-called "age group athletes", who are tested for reasons like these:

• British father and son will perform their ninth IRONMAN together. (David and Chris Hamlett)

• Danish fitness celebrity Charlotte Bircow will make her first IRONMAN after having cancer just two years ago.

• Sheika Hessa Alkalifa, her goal, to be the first Bahrain woman to complete an IRONMAN.

• Arnoud Bouvier returns to Lanzarote to finish his 32 IRONMAN.

• Sean Duffy, member of the Household Cavalry in Knightsbridge, London. He will hold his first triathlon here in Lanzarote as a fitness training mode. As a strong swimmer, he could be one of the first to emerge from the water.

The departure will take place this Saturday at 07:00 in Playa Grande, Puerto del Carmen.
