More than 3.200 triathletes at the IRONMAN 70.3 Mallorca

This Saturday, May 13, the Zafiro will be held in the town of Alcúdia, in the north of the island of Mallorca. IRONMAN® 70.3 Alcúdia-Mallorca, a triathlon event organized by The IRONMAN Group.

More from 3.200 triathletes will participate in this event, which attracts competitors from all over the world and generates a great atmosphere in the streets of the town.

During the press conference to present the event, the local authorities and organizers highlighted the importance of this type of event to publicize Mallorca and make tourism seasonally adjusted.

Likewise, they highlighted the relevance of elite sporting events to promote physical activity, especially among young people.

International participation on the rise

This edition of the Zafiro IRONMAN® 70.3® Alcúdia-Mallorca consolidates its participation figures, with 3.200 registered and nearly 450 triclubs registered in the competition.

Also, a 70% of the participants will compete for the first time on the island, confirming the attractiveness of the circuit and the destination.

International participation is significant, with 71 nationalities represented, which represent 86% of the total registered.

Artemis Women Project

The Artemis Women Project will be one of the great novelties of this year. 

This initiative of The IRONMAN Group has followed and advised several female athletes in their preparation for this test, with the aim of inspiring and empowering more women to dare to practice sport.

The Zafiro IRONMAN® 70.3® Alcúdia-Mallorca route is one of the most attractive on the circuit, with swimming segments on the spectacular Alcúdia beach, a bicycle route through the Serra de Tramuntana and a half marathon along the beach from Alcúdia, which generates an epic atmosphere thanks to the congregation of spectators.
