4 medals for the Spanish paratriathlon in Buffalo City

The city of Buffalo hosted the first ITU paratriathlon event of the season

 

Bright start of the season Spanish paratriathlon in Buffalo City (Republic of South Africa), with great performances that leave a balance of four medals and a remarkable performance of all our athletes in the first stop of the ITU World Paratriathlon Events.

Despite the heat and humidity, the Spaniards have played a great role, all of them facing courses consisting of an initial 750 m of swimming, two cycling laps of 20 km along eminently flat paths. Finally, the final 5 km that have run along the sea.

In men's competitions, José Vicente Arzo He has excelled in PT1 achieving the final bronze medal in his category. While Lionel Morales has signed a meritorious performance, entering the finish line in fourth place in PT2. For its part, in category PT4, Toni Franco has qualified ninth and Rafa Solis in tenth place.

In the men's PT5 event, our representatives have achieved a Spanish double with Héctor Catalá and your guide Eduardo Talavera, lacing with the silver medal and José Luis García Serrano, accompanied by your guide Fran Nieva, signing the bronze medal.

In female PT2 category, Rakel Mateo he has reached sixth place, after suffering an untimely fall during the course of the test. While the Galician Susana Rodríguez, accompanied by your guide Mayalen Noriega, have closed a superb performance conquering the silver medal in female PT5.

A splendid start to the season that augurs great emotions for this 2016, with the debut of paratriathlon in the JJ.PP. de Río marked on the calendar as a star date.
