45 Spaniards in the Triathlon European Cup in Quarteria

This weekend, we will have the participation of 45 Spanish triathletes in the European Cup of Triathlon ETU in junior and elite category, to be held in Quarteira (Portugal). Between the 12 and 13 in April we will enjoy the participation of our triathletes in the Portuguese city.

On Saturday the elite categories will start, competing for a route consisting of 1.5 km of swimming, a cyclist stretch of 40 km for a flat circuit with some turns of 180º and a small slope. Finally, they will face 10 km of the race on foot along a flat section that will run along the sea.

In females, we will start with Tamara Gomez, Maria Ortega, Anna Godoy, Miriam Casillas, Sara Bonilla, Ana Mariblanca, Melina Alonso, Anna Flaquer y Laura Gomez. For its part, in the men's competition we will have Vicente Hernández, Uxío Abuín, Ricardo Hernández, David Castro, Antonio Benito, Pau Castellvell, Nan Oliveras, Genis Grau, Pedro Antonio López, Alejandro Cañas, Diego Paz y Fernando López.

The next day, on Sunday 13 in April, it will be the turn of the junior. The first to take the exit will be the girls, with the Spanish Inés Santiago, Ana Carvajal, Cecilia Santamaría, Carmen Gómez, Raquel Mateos, Sara Ruiz, Meritxell Velasco, Mar Solís, Sara Guerrero, Cristina Tortella, Eva Morales, Marta Sánchez, Irene Cabrera, Marina Castro and Carla Castaño. In boys the Spanish will participate Antonio Serrat, Roberto Sánchez, Andrés Cendán, Alberto González, Plácido Venegas, Joan Noguera, Arturo Galián, Jesús del Val, Javier Rico and Javier Lluch.

The competition will run through a first segment of a single round of 0,75 km of swimming, followed by 20 km cyclists and to finish with two laps of 5 km each running.

Spain attends the appointment with a large representation, a sign of the good level that our sport lives today. In addition, it should also be noted that the technical delegate of the appointment will be the Asturian Raquel González Cascales.
