Baekkegard and Langridge win the IRONMAN Western Australia, the last of the year

Today, the IRONMAN Western Australia in the city of Busselton, where the victory has been for Daniel Baekkegard y Fenella Langridge. 

The test was held under the Ironman format (3.8 km of swimming, 180 km of cycling, 42.2 km of running) and was the last test of the year 2023 over the distance for the franchise.  

In the men's category, victory has been for Daniel Baekkegard with a time of 7: 34: 23, followed by Matt Burton (7: 40: 28) and for Nick Thompson (7: 48: 23). 

Daniel Baekkegard, who had just won the Challenge Canberra the previous week, showed an exceptional performance from the start. 

 In the run race, Baekkegard consolidated his lead, increasing the lead over his pursuers and securing his first Ironman victory since 2019.

 In the female category, Fenella Langridge won with a time of 8:29:43, followed by Lisa Norden (8: 33: 02) and for Lotte Wilms (8: 40: 59). 

Everything was decided in the marathon, where Langridge proved to be the strongest, overtaking Norden around kilometer 30 and achieving the final victory.

The IRONMAN Western Australia: Last Event of the year

Ironman Western Australia, held this December 3, marked the end of the 2023 season of the IRONMAN franchise

With three slots per category for the 2024 Ironman World Championship, the competition was especially intense, since no participant had previously secured their classification.
