Bronze medal for David Castro in the Sprint Iberoamerican Championship

Ricardo Hernández has reached fourth place.

 

 

The Spanish David Castro has achieved the bronze medal in the Sprint Iberoamerican Championship in elite male category. While closing an outstanding performance of the Spaniards during the day today, Ricardo Hernández has reached the fourth place.

The triathlete from La Roda has entered the podium of the Ibero-American Championship with a final time of 59 minutes and 29 seconds. In turn, Ricardo Hernández, from Tenerife, completed the 750-meter swimming, 20-kilometer cycling and 5-kilometer running course in 59 minutes and 40 seconds. The victory has been for Rodrigo González, with the local triathlete Michel González winning the silver medal of the Ibero-American.

Also, Castro has obtained the fifth place in the overall of the American Triathlon Cup, whereas Hernandez has classified in the seventh position of this continental competition. A test in which the Mexican Gonzalez has climbed to the top of the podium. Behind, the Italian Daniel Hofer has achieved the silver medal and the Irish Bryan Keane has signed the bronze.

The Spanish have started the season offering very good feelings and performing at a high level, since Castro's medal and the good role of Ricardo Hernández were joined by the formidable performance offered hours before by the two Spanish triathletes who disputed the women's competition and in which they won the championship and runner-up in the modality. In this way, the four Spanish representatives obtain valuable points for the ITU ranking in its international premiere in 2015.
