Castellón presents the Mediterranean Triathlon 2024 poster

The Castellón City Council has hosted the presentation of the poster Mediterranean 2024 Triathlon with the presence of the mayor, Begoña Carrasco; Vanessa Huesa, president of the Valencian Community Triathlon Federation; Maica Hurtado, Sports Councilor; Arantxa Miralles, Councilor for Tourism; Ester Giner, deputy mayor of Grao; and Toni García, race director.

This sporting event, which is celebrated at the regional level, joins Valencia and Alicante for another year. The test will arrive in the capital of Plana on the days 6 and 7 for July, when the Grao will become the epicenter of the competition, in line with the local government's determined commitment to turn Castellón into an outstanding destination for sporting events.

QWe want these sporting events to act as a tourist stimulus and provide a boost to our economy.

This will help us achieve a city that is alive all year round in which sport is a stimulus for our hotels, restaurants, companies and businesses.”, Carrasco pointed out.

The first councilor recalled that “We were already the Capital of Sports in 2012, with more than 200 competitions and more than 40.000 overnight stays that had an economic impact of more than 6 million euros.

One of our main objectives is to be able to repeat it, aware that Castellón has idyllic conditions to be a reference in the organization of sporting events.".

For her part, Vanessa Huesa, president of the Valencian Community Triathlon Federation, has assured that “dFrom the Federation, as co-organizers of the test together with Evasión Castellón, we thank the Castellón City Council for its involvement in the test and the trust placed in the entire team that makes it possible".

He has also pointed out that “Castellón offers the ideal setting for practicing the sport of triathlon and, specifically, this test invites you to get started in this discipline due to the conditions of the circuit, with a completely flat cycling area in the Grao de Castellón ".

Toni García, director of the race, explained that “andWe are delighted that the participants in this race can come and enjoy Castellón and all its tourist attractions in a test that will have great quality and great care for the athlete.".
