Challenge Mallorca will host the European Middle Distance Championship

Next October 18, we will enjoy the first edition of the Half Challenge Paguera Mallorca. An event that has recently been designated by the European Triathlon Federation (ETU) headquarters of the 2014 European Middle Distance Championship.

 

 

 

The event reinforces the strong bond of collaboration that unites the European Federation, the Spanish Triathlon Federation and the Challenge family, and adds to the success of the past European Championship of the specialty that was also held in Spain within the Half Challenge Barcelona-Maresme.

 

The president of the Spanish Triathlon Federation, José Hidalgo, has indicated that this appointment is “Very important for Spain, since in this way we can offer our athletes top-level international competitions in national territory. The appointment by the ETU of the European Medium Distance Championship in the framework of a Challenge competition contributes to reinforcing our bonds of union. Furthermore, we understand that this is the line to follow, since its inclusion in the ETU calendar is the third international event to be held in Spain during 2014, pending the addition of others shortly ”.

In turn, the European Triathlon Federation has also announced that the Challenge Almere-Amsterdam will host the World Long Distance Triathlon Championship.
