Countdown to the Challenge Salou 2019

The next 7 on April will be held the 5th edition of the Challenge Salou, one of the most important international triathlon events on the Costa Daurada. The test will have a total of 1050 participants that will travel 1.9km by swimming, 90km by bike and 21.1km running in modalities HALF y HALF RELAY; and 1,9km swimming, 60km by bike and 11km running in the modality SHORTS.

 The race will start on Sunday at the 08: 00AM, foreseeing the arrival of the first runner to the 11: 50 in the morning at the finish located in the Plaza of the Autonomous Communities, epicenter of the triathlon all weekend. With a cycling circuit to 3 fast laps and a run on foot along the promenade, the race will not leave any participant indifferent. In addition, the test can be followed online through social networks.

 It should be noted that the Challenge Salou not only deals 25.000 € in prizes, It is also a World Championship qualifying event (The Championship) to be held in Samorin, Slovakia, the next 2 in June.

 International consolidation

After closing the last 22 of February the Challenge Salou consolidates its international prestige with a spectacular team of triathletes from 40 countries and 78 professional triathletes that will take the PRO exit.

 Among the most prominent names stand out Pablo Dapena (ESP), which repeats in Salou for the third consecutive year, as well as Judith Corachan (ESP) and Margie Santimaria (ITA) who also return to Salou after their first and third place in 2018, respectively.

 Fastest and safest circuit

Thanks to the joint work between the organization and the Local Police, Mossos d'Esquadra and Servei Català de Trànsit, the Challenge Salou 2019 bike and running circuit will be safer and faster.

The improvements to the layout have focused on eliminate 6 roundabouts for each round (18 roundabouts in total) and move 6km from secondary road to 6km highway. Thus, the triathletes will be able to compete this year in an improved circuit, faster and safer.

 The Festival: activities all weekend

Beyond the mid-distance triathlon, Challenge Salou presents The Festival, a offer of activities for the familyThey can also live a unique experience and enjoy this wonderful sport that fuses family and sport.

 In addition to a fantastic free access Expo at the La Siesta Resort in Salou, on Friday, April 5, in the afternoon, a “Meet & Greet” will be held with the best professional athletes of the event.

On Saturday morning 6 will be the turn of the swim test "Open Water", the family run of 4km "Breakfast Run" and the "Junior Challenge", the foot race of the youngest. Later, the "Pasta Party" and the "Challenge Women" will complete the offer of activities the day before the Challenge.
