Held for the first time in two different locations, Nice and Kona, the 2023 IRONMAN World Championship marked a milestone in its 45-year history. 

Thousands of athletes from all over the world crossed the finish line, inaugurating a new era for this championship. 

Stories to highlight 

Among the featured stories, we find Lucy Charles-Barclay, the British triathlete who, after four second places, is finally seeking to be crowned in the most prestigious triathlon event.  

Sam Laidlow, the Frenchman, aspires to be the youngest winner of the championship and bring France its first world title.  

Els Visser, shipwreck survivor and now professional triathlete, cam wurf, a cycling and triathlon professional, Nadine Hunt, the first indigenous Australian woman to compete in Kona, Dale Mackey, “Top Chef Canada” winning chef, and Cyril Del Pistoia, who defied a diagnosis of acute leukemia, are some of the protagonists of this story of resistance and determination.
