This is the full statement

“In accordance with the exceptional protocol to prevent the spread of COVID-19 activated by the Spanish health authorities, the Community of Madrid and the Madrid City Council, and always keeping the health and safety of the participants as a main priority, from the organization of the EDP Rock 'n' Roll Madrid Marathon & 1/2, together with the local authorities, we have decided to postpone the 43rd edition of the event to November 15, 2020. This change of date also affects EXPODEPOR, the runner's fair, which will take place on days 13 and 14 November.

We are aware of the inconvenience this measure can cause and, like many participants, we are disappointed by the need to postpone the race, but we greatly appreciate your understanding of what remains a changing and challenging situation for all.

All runners registered in the EDP Rock 'n' Roll Madrid Marathon & ½ will automatically keep their registration for the new date. Runners who cannot attend the new date can also choose to transfer their registration to the 2021 or 2022 edition, or to change the holder of their registration at no cost. We will inform all registrants by email, starting Tuesday, March 17, about the process of deferral of registrations.

We are aware that this change may affect travel planning, so we recommend that registered riders contact their travel providers immediately to inform them of this situation.

Thank you again for your understanding and we look forward to hosting you a great event in the future.

The EDP Rock 'n' Roll Madrid Marathon & ½ team.”
