The International Athletics Federation has officially awarded the Movistar Half Marathon of Madrid the stamp "IAAF Silver Label”, Improving its previous bronze cataloging
In this way the IAAF He recognizes it as one of the best road races in the world.
The Movistar Half Marathon in Madrid, which will celebrate its 20th edition on 29 in March 2020, has officially received from the International Athletics Federation the "IAAF Silver Label" stamp which places it among the best road tests worldwide.
This recognition, which comes to improve the category 'bronze' achieved in the last edition, places the Movistar Half Marathon in Madrid at the level of other 26 asphalt races that share this distinction.
It has successfully passed all the parameters and requirements of the IAAF
The new official cataloging has been granted for this edition by the IAAF thanks to the fact that the Madrid event has managed to overcome all the necessary parameters and requirements regarding its organizational quality, safety, elite sports level, number of registered, international promotion, media impact and exposure of the test.
In the last edition there were 20.000 participants between the 21.097 meter test and the 5k - ProFuturo race, for the benefit of the Telefónica Profuturo Foundation, being one of the most massive races nationwide.
Changes for the 2020.
Also, to celebrate the 20 anniversary at 2020 the organization is working on other improvements related to the circuit, redesign of exit areas, goal or cloakroom, and in continuing to close a roster of top-level runners as in past editions.
