The Portocolom Triathlon, which celebrates the 14 in April, one of the first official triathlons of the continental calendar, officially joins Spirit Multisport to be the first of the four tests that will make up the new European Long Distance circuit, the "European Long Distance Triathlon Series".

This circuit focuses on very special triathlons, hard for the participants and of great beauty and attractiveness, promoting the participation of elite triathletes with non-professionals, which increases the prizes for the winners, adds added value to those who debuted or start in this sport through seminars and training platforms, and turn the circuit into a league in which athletes earn points through a system of ranking and also compete for prizes at the end of the four tests.

This new circuit will be recognized as "the toughest in the world of Long Distance triathlon", And the official calendar announced includes some of the most prestigious and epic triathlons in Europe:

  • April 14 -Portocolom Triathlon, Mallorca.
  • 30 of June - EBERL Chiemsee Triathlon, Germany.
  • July 25 - TIME Alpe d'Huez Triathlon, France.
  • 25 of August- TRANS Vorarlberg Triathlon, Austrian Championship.

Tom Sutton, one of the most recognized names in European triathlon and CEO of Spirit Multisport, has indicated that "The objective is to develop a real alternative to the offers that exist in the world of long distance triathlons, with high quality, unique and special events, with different and attractive formats, and that the triathletes are really interested in playing them.

Portocolom is traditionally the start of the European triathlon season every year, thanks to its innovative formats: 55.5 (500 m of swimming, 50 km of cycling, and 5 km of running on foot) and 111 (1 km of swimming, 100 km of cycling and 10 km of running on foot).

Again, some 1.000 triathletes will be cited in the spectacular bay of Portocolom, in the municipality of Felanitx in Mallorca, to later take one or two laps to the demanding cycling circuit that includes the climb to Sant Salvador, well known by thousands of cyclists and triathletes They visit Mallorca every year with its ascent to the 494 meters of altitude and incredible views of the Mediterranean coast. The race on foot crosses all the traditional historical center of Portocolom to the finish line in the heart of the Club Nautic de Portocolom.

The Portocolom Triathlon is organized by Kumulus, with the support of the Felanitx City Council and the Triatló Portocolom Club.
