Mixed relay triathlon will be included in the Commonwealth Games from 2018

The ITU announced on November 11 that the mixed relay triathlon has been officially included in the Commonwealth games as of 2018.

All 70 members of the Commonwealth Games Association voted to include this test. In addition, the committee is considering including her in the games to be held in Glasgow in 2014.

A mixed relay triathlon event consists of several teams made up of 4 triathletes, two men and two women, who have to finish a distance of 250 meters swimming, 5 kilometers by bicycle and finally 1,2 km of running in this order. woman-man-woman-man.

This format is having great success since the original gender relay competition format was changed in 2009, with triathletes from all five continents attending the mixed relay triathlon world championship held in Lausanne last August.
