It seems that the City Council of Madrid "is going to give cane" to popular races. The truth is that there are many and the team chaired by the mayor Manuela Carmena is going to put hand and strong, for it has the sports area led by Javier Odriozola that I know personally and I'm sure that the organizers are not going to like nothing, nothing, nothing ..., it will be a very funny 2016.

At the moment the organizers have already received a letter and they are invited (as it were) to lower the prices of the registration and not to exceed 0'80 cents per kilometers. Take it now!

An example, a race like La San Silvestre Vallecana that walks through the 20 € would cost 8 €

It is clear that the organizers did not like it and say that with that income they would not cover the costs of the test. The curious thing is that some organizer wants to increase the kilometers of his career.

The organizers say that they would not hire people and if volunteers, they would not put a chip and as a consequence an official timer, nothing of official shirts, gifts, prizes ... and the broker's bag if you are interested instead of being given it you would have to buy it if you are interested

The City Council wants to establish an official calendar for 2016 and the new organizers will be studied and approved if they come into the calendar.

They do not want "adventurers" who want to organize a test, they want legal entities where behind there is someone more than a private individual.

Obviously the City wants to regulate the official schedule and may only be Sundays or holidays to 9 in the morning, although the San Silvestre Vallecana will be the only one that is saved by its tradition.

Areas of special interest will be protected, such as the Retiro Park. They do not want there to be many races there, as is logical.

So they're going to get their hands and some organizers? They try to fight against those rules that seem to go forward.

In Madrid this year there were more than 150 popular races, and many are made by parks such as Juan Carlos I or Casa de Campo, which do not need a traffic device. The comparison is terrifying with more than 2.300 demonstrations or concentrations, a hundred more than last year, according to data from the Government Delegation, which require a special Mobility device on all occasions by the Municipal Police and many times , the provision of fences to divert traffic from the protest. Not all are equal it seems, without neglecting the different processions, horseback riding, days of ... etc ...

 

 

The worst thing is that it is already rumored that within that pack duathlons and triathlons will enter, especially those that use mythical parks like Casa Campo a lot of times and that undoubtedly "take away" the space for the Sunday user with his bicycle from one side to another, without forgetting Juan Carlos I, to a lesser extent.

It is clear that we will have to put the beards to soak, if the scissors of the City Council comes to our sport, let's hope there are no more suspensions of tests and that everything is regulated to the benefit of all.

For the time being this does not take away my sleep and I'm sure I'll sleep better on Wednesday afternoons. I approve of "hand in hand" in these racing, duathlon and triathlon businesses.
